Body after baby

Wow did I not prepare myself for after childbirth as much as I thought I did.

Yes I knew I would have the “mum pouch” and lose skin and I would have to work that off which I’m getting their, I’m back down to my pre pregnancy weight I now just have to keep at it because i was already gaining before baby. But I really didn’t expect all the other postpartum body stuff? Or maybe I just blocked it out!

Here is the rundown for all women yet to go through this lovely journey… any if other mummy’s has different experiences I would love to read about them in the comments below.

First one: I had great glowing skin well pregnant no redness, no pimples I felt great! Oh boy did my hormones after childbirth come back and bite me in the bum! My face hasn’t been this bad in years and nothing seems to be working.

Second: not only does your stomach change on the outside it changes on the inside, I can’t explain because I’m unaware of what is happening on the inside but my stomach makes weird sounds all the time!

Third: back pain!! Now again I had the drugs so this may be different for the natural birth mums but my back and spine is so bad after birth, I have to continue to support my back when changing Lorenzo and remind myself to sit up straight I’m hoping this goes away soon because it’s pretty bad some days.

Fourth: the period cramps but no period… I never used to be one of those women who got cramps and now I do and Mother Nature can take them back now because some days I actually have to have a heat pack on my stomach and rest… I don’t have time for that!

Fifth: hair loss! I really hope I’m not the only one but big chunks of my hair comes out when I brush and I have really thick hair so I don’t mind too much but if it continues I’m afraid I’m going to go bold very soon.

Sixth: the mood swings! Even I hate myself sometimes
